Head Coach

I am a certified Swim South Africa LTS Instructor and have been in the industry since 2010.  I bring international experience from working amongst a highly qualified team of international coaches at Thanyapura Sports and Leisure, home of the Asian FINA Rio 2016 Swimming Programme. Over the period of 2010 – 2014 I had the privilege of working alongside instructors with years of experience whose knowledge and guidance played an invaluable role in my decision to become a coach. I am passionate about teaching others a life skill and imparting the knowledge I have gained as both a participant and a coach.

Testimonials

Charlotte Lowe coached all three my children (ages 2-10 years old) between 2011 and 2014.

She has an excellent repertoire with very young and older kids alike.  She is always very professional and my children only excelled under her watchful eye.

She has excellent coaching skills that she brings over to the children in a way that they understand fully. My children grew very fond of Charlotte because of her caring nature.

I can recommend Charlotte to coach anyone’s child, she is a real gem!

Charlotte was my twin daughters swimming coach for 4 years and with Charlotte amazing teaching skills and I am proud to say that my girls are the top swimmers in their age category for their primary school swim league and our local swimming club league. Charlotte has taught my girls the proper techniques in stroke correction which has enabled them to achieve the best results in their age category for both school and social swimming events. When people watch our girls swim they are amazed at how well they swim and that they swim with such ease and use the correct strokes for each swim event. It makes me proud as a parent to receive such wonderful compliments and I need to thank Charlotte for her dedication in teaching young children to swim so well.

Charlotte is a patient but a firm coach and allows the children to enjoy their lessons without them even realizing that they have had an intense training session. The children are comfortable in Charlotte’s presence and respect her authority as a coach I strongly recommend Charlotte as a swim coach.

FAQ’s

How long does it take to learn how to swim?

There is no given time frame as all people, whether child or adult, learn at different rates.  If a person is afraid of water, especially after a near drowning incident, then it does take a considerable amount of time to overcome the fear before being able to swim.  A person that is very comfortable with the idea of swimming and has a natural “feel” for it, can learn within a few weeks.

How often should I swim?

Frequency and consistency play a vital role in how fast you’ll learn anything.  The more you do, the faster you learn and the better you get.  We recommend at least 2-3 times a week for Learn-to-Swim and Stroke Correction.  A minimum of 3 sessions per week is advised for Squad training.

People that do fewer lessons are advised to practice outside of their lessons.

What equipment do I need?

A costume, towel, swimming cap and goggles.

For Squad training – paddles, pool buoy and flippers.

Do you sell swimming equipment?

Yes, we sell the following equipment;

Team Terra swimming caps

Junior and senior goggles

Paddles in different sizes
